Some engineers and an LLM do not a scalable product make. You need someone who understands what engineers do to establish standards, provide help and guidance, and make sure that they are ready to handle a crisis. This points from the engineering team outwards as well: establishing priorities, making big decisions, and taking as much as possible off of the engineers' plates so that they can flow forever.

Many organizations see engineers as a necessary evil. That is not nice for the engineers, lowers the quality of their work, and is self-perpetuating because it keeps them from being engaged with the rest of the org and its mission. They should feel valued, and that they have real ownership of their work, from a technical and product perspective.
